Let’s face it, we either scroll through LinkedIn and come across great content which makes us think “why didn’t I think of that?”, or we see boring graphics that we mindlessly skip through.

As such, it’s important to create engaging content to capture the minds of potential customers and new leads.

In fact, LinkedIn is a proven platform for almost any business-related activity and so, if you want your business to grow, LinkedIn’s the place to start.

With this in mind, here are 3 ways you can create engaging content.

 

1. Short Attention-Grabbing Videos

It’s no secret, we all spend a lot of time on social media.

Let’s put this into numbers – we spend almost 6 years of our lifetimes on social media platforms. 

However, LinkedIn is slightly different, in the sense that people browse at a faster pace.

So, by only posting your latest blog post for example, and expecting over 100 clicks and shares – it’s just not realistic.

The reality is, video content is on the rise because it offers short but concise information for the customer, rather than clicking off the site to read a long blog.

Furthermore, it’s up to you to decide how much information you want to present, so you can offer longer discussion topics in a video format.

With that in mind, it’s time to spice up your LinkedIn game and begin recording fun but knowledge packed videos to capture your audience’s attention.

 

2. Share Third-Party Content

As you already know, LinkedIn is all about building relationships and starting conversations.

Which means, sometimes you may have to talk about topics that are not about your own brand.

And although this may sound counter-intuitive, you want your target audience to associate you with valuable information.

As a result, it’ll be much more likely they’ll click on your original content too.

Keep in mind though, when you are sharing third-party content, you want to actually say something meaningful too – not just “interesting!”

At the same time, be mindful not to post anything too controversial or overtly politcal – unless that’s your field of course.

 

3. Text Only Content

Whilst we are told visual content is key at grabbing your audience’s eye, the truth is, LinkedIn has become oversaturated with the same content; audiences are becoming blind to the number of visuals we see every day.

In other words, you don’t want to do what everyone else is doing. 

And actually, it’s been found that basic text posts are getting better levels of engagement, across likes, comments and views compared to any other form of content.

Essentially, using text-only content helps break down the feed and gets people to stop and read, and who knows, perhaps even engage in a discussion.

Therefore, next time you go to post on LinkedIn, keep it simple.

 

Closing Thoughts

Ultimately, it’s not about quantity, it’s about quality.

So, don’t just post things for the sake of it or it will get lost amongst everyone else trying to do the same thing.

Instead of linking your blog article to LinkedIn, consider writing them directly on the platform or in a video format.

Basically, stay away from the “norm”, and you’ll soon find higher levels of organic engagement.
